Subaru Impreza: Decoding the Price Tags of this Iconic Rally-Inspired Compact
Subaru Impreza is a sedan, station wagon, coupe or hatchback by the Japanese company Subaru, produced since 1992. It belongs to the C-segment. The car has gone through several generations:
First generation (GC/GF) - 1992-2000. The first generation Impreza, produced from 1992 to 2000 as a successor to the Leone model. According to the original plans, the car was to be called Loyale. Traditionally for the Subaru brand, the Impreza was equipped with "boxer" type engines. Available engines are 1.5 liters, 1.6 liters, 1.8 liters, 2.0 liters, 2.2 liters, 2.5 liters. Transmission: 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual. In 1997, the model underwent a serious modernization. Not the least role in the success of the car on the market was played by its rally achievements, including the titles of World Champion among drivers and constructors in 1995-1997.
The second generation (GD) - 2000-2007. Released in 2000, the second-generation Subaru Impreza received an updated body design. The model was nicknamed "bug-eyed" because of its characteristic round headlights. The updated Impreza II in 2003, which received new headlights, was nicknamed "blob". In 2006, the car underwent another facelift, after which the new version of the body was named "hawk-eye". Available engines are 1.5 liters, 1.6 liters, 2.0 liters, 2.5 liters. Transmission: 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual. Production of the second generation Subaru Impreza stopped in 2007.
The third generation (GR) - 2007-2011. The third-generation Subaru Impreza debuted in Europe as a hatchback (similar in size to its sedan predecessor), which was a surprise for that time. The classic sedan version was intended primarily for the American market. Radical styling changes that Impreza underwent were also considered questionable. Subaru Impreza is no longer so aggressive and flashy, but has become more comfortable and refined. Available engines: gasoline 1.5 liters, 2.0 liters, 2.5 liters; diesel 2.0 liters. Transmission: 4-speed automatic, 5-speed automatic, 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual.
Fourth generation (GP, GJ) - 2011-2015. Available with sedan and hatchback bodies. Equipped with the following engines - gasoline 1.6 liters, 2.0 liters, 2.5 liters; diesel 2.0 liters.
Fifth generation - 2016-2022. The vehicle is built on the new Subaru Global Platform chassis. The tradition of installing symmetrical all-wheel drive has been retained, but at the same time there is an opportunity to use a hybrid drive system. As in the case with its predecessor, along with the classic sedan, a five-door variant of the Subaru Impreza appeared in the range. Gasoline engine: 1.6 liters, 2.0 liters. Transmission: 5-speed manual, variator.
Sixth generation- from 2022. The model has lost the sedan body, as well as the manual transmission. But for the first time since 2005 there is a variation of 2.5 RS, which has an engine of 184 k.p. with a torque of 241 Nm. Also the car is equipped with modern electronic aids, for example, as automatic emergency braking.
