Peugeot iOn: Decoding Prices from Its Launch to Today's Pre-Owned Market

The Peugeot iOn is a city electric car based on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and belongs to the supermini class - A. It was developed in cooperation between Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and PSA Peugeot Citroën. The Peugeot iOn electric car made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2009.

The vehicle is driven by a 49 kW electric motor powered by lithium-ion batteries. Charged, it travels between 100 and 150 km under normal conditions. iOn reaches a top speed of 130 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in 14.5 seconds.

Despite its 1.6-meter-high body, the iOn remains stable in corners. This is thanks to the electric drive, or rather the lithium-ion batteries, which are placed near the floor, guaranteeing a low center of gravity. Another undeniable advantage of the iOn model is its 9-meter turning diameter.

The electric iOn is surprisingly quick to accelerate, everything is smooth, slow and jerk-free. This is thanks to the electric motor, which develops 64 hp and 180 Nm. The second parameter is particularly important. The maximum torque occurs at minimum revs, which ensures a good start from the ground and high flexibility. The driving characteristics, steering precision and braking efficiency are at the level of modern city cars. The only thing to reproach the new Peugeot is the low quality of finishing materials in the interior, as well as their unpretentious forms. We expected more from the car of almost future.
