The sporty 206 was so popular that it was driven by rally drivers. In 2006, the WRC 206 model won the World Rally Championship in the manufacturer's category. Despite the launch of a successor, the 206 sold well enough for Peugeot to introduce a rejuvenated version under the 206+ logo. The main difference between the two cars was the front end, which was borrowed from the 207. In this form, the model was produced until 2014.
