MG: Price analysis of cars of the revived British brand

British car manufacturer, now owned by Chinese company Nanjing Automobile Group (NAC).

In 1924, Cecil Kimber, manager of Morris Motors, founded Morris Garages (MG) to develop sports versions of Morris cars. The first MG 14/28 model wins the hearts of enthusiasts with its excitement and affordability. Soon MG becomes synonymous with sports cars, shining on race tracks and rallies. Legendary models such as the Midget, J2, TA, TB break speed records and win the hearts of fans. By 1939, MG becomes an icon of British car culture.

During the Second World War and the post-war period, car production was suspended and capacity was reorientated for military needs. After the war MG resumed production, producing models that became classics - MG TD, MG YB.

From 1950 to 1960, the brand entered the international market, conquering America with models MGA and MGB. Stylish, affordable and reliable roadsters become iconic, embodying the spirit of freedom and carefree. In turn, the MG Midget becomes the best-selling sports car in the world.

In the period of 70-80s, the global oil crisis and increasing competition from Japanese carmakers negatively affect MG. Change of owners, restructuring attempts do not bring the desired success, so in 1980 production in Oxford is stopped. In the nineties MG Rover Group buys the brand and resumes production. The new models, among them the MG F and MG TF, inspired by the classics, do not repeat the former success. In 2005, MG Rover Group goes bankrupt and the MG brand is sold to the Chinese company Nanjing Automobile Group (NAC).

In the early 2000s, NAC invested in modernising and developing new MG models and the brand was revived. Modern models, such as ZS, HS, EHS, combine stylish design, advanced technology and affordable price. MG is now positioned as a brand of stylish, practical and affordable cars for the modern world. Despite the difficulties, the company has preserved its identity and today confidently steps into the future, offering new solutions for the mobile world.
