Ford Ranger: In-depth Price Analysis of Ford's Popular Pickup

The Ford Ranger is one of the most popular pickup trucks in the world, known for reliability, off-road capability, and functionality. It is ideal for both work and outdoor activities. The Ranger is capable of carrying substantial loads and towing trailers, making it an indispensable work companion. All-wheel drive and high ground clearance allow you to feel confidently off-road. Despite its working orientation, the interior of the Ranger can be equipped with modern comfort systems that make the trip pleasant.

The Ford Ranger has been continually improved, and has gone through 5 generations:

  • First Generation (1983-1992). The 1st generation Ranger was introduced in 1983 and immediately gained popularity due to its simplicity and reliability. It was a pickup truck with rear or all-wheel drive, manual or automatic transmission. Gasoline engines with power up to 60-130 hp were available.
  • Second Generation (1993-1998). The next generation was characterized by a more modern design and an expanded series of power units. The front end of the pickup was updated - new fenders, radiator grille, turn signals moved from the fender to the headlights. The series of power units has also changed. Power of 2.3-liter and 3.0-liter engines has increased to 112 hp and 145 hp, respectively.
  • Third Generation (1998-2011). The 3rd generation became more comfortable and received a new design of the front end. The cars are equipped with gasoline engines: in-line "4" (2.3 liters, 143 hp), and 2 V6 engines (3.0 liters, 148 hp or 4.0 liters, 208 hp). Transmission is manual or automatic (five-speed).
  • Fourth Generation (2018-2022). The next generation received a more modern interior and new powertrains - 2.3 liter EcoBoost turbo I4 and 2.0 liter Ecoblue I4 (diesel). The car is also supplemented with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is built on the platform of Ford T6 Ranger.
  • Fifth Generation (from 2022). It is a modern pickup truck that combines brutality and innovation. The vehicle is called the "T6.2" but has not been completely redesigned due to the use of the same basic body shapes and dimensions. There is a choice of 2.3L EcoBoost I4 turbo and 3.0L EcoBoost V6 twin-turbo gasoline units, as well as 2.0L and 3.0L diesel units.
