Ford Mustang: Decoding the Price Range of America's Beloved Pony Car

Ford Mustang is more than a car, it is an icon of the American car industry, a symbol of freedom and power. Since its debut in 1964, it has won the hearts of hundreds of thousands of car enthusiasts. Mustang has always been synonymous with sporty style, affordable luxury and unrivaled dynamics. Under the hood of the Mustang are powerful V8 engines that provide dynamics and unforgettable driving experience. Today's Mustang models are equipped with a variety of innovations, including safety systems, multimedia systems and adaptive suspension.

The Ford Mustang has gone through many improvements, so it has several generations:

  • The first generation (1964-1973). 1964 is the birth of a legend. The car was presented in coupe and convertible bodies, with rear-wheel drive. Many engines were available, including the famous V8. In 1966, a 120-horsepower 6-cylinder unit with up to 3.2 liters of displacement was available in the base configuration. Three V8 engines were available as options, ranging from 200 to 271 hp. Transmissions were automatic transmission and manual with Paxton supercharger.
  • Second Generation (1974-1978). A more compact and economical variant. The body remained unchanged, as well as the drive. At the same time, less powerful engines were installed due to environmental regulations. For example, a 2.3-liter engine with up to 83 hp was available in the base version. Later, a small V8 with an output of 140 hp and a volume of 4.9 liters appeared.
  • Third Generation (1979-1993). The third generation is a return to its roots. Coupe and convertible bodywork, rear-wheel drive. At the same time, powerful V8 engines with a capacity of up to 4.95 liters are returned. The car was built on the Fox Platform.
  • Fourth generation (1994-2004). This generation received a more rounded design. The body and drivetrain remain the same. More engines became available, including a 5-liter V8 with up to 240 hp. In 1996, the five-liter "Windsor" unit was replaced by a 215-horsepower 4.6-liter SOHC "Modular" V8.
  • Fifth Generation (2005-2014). This generation received a more sporty and aggressive styling. The powerful V8 and V6 engines and rear-wheel drive remained unchanged. The base model was supplemented by the signature 4.0-liter V6 engine with SOHC timing and up to 210 hp, which replaced the 3.8-liter version. In addition to the standard transmission, a Tremec 3650 five-speed manual transmission could be fitted.
  • Sixth Generation (2015-2023). It is already a modern and technologically advanced car with a wide range of powertrain choices, including a 5-liter V8 and a 2.3-liter EcoBoost. For 2019, 2 limited editions were added to the lineup - the Bullitt and GT California Special. For 2020, the High Performance package was added and the FordPass Connect system became the base model. The versatile "Performance" package increases the power of the installed unit from 314 to 330 hp.
  • Seventh Generation (from 2023). A new generation with even more aggressive design and innovation. These cars feature powerful V8 engines and hybrid powertrains. The new generation Mustang has a digital infotainment system consisting of a 12.4-inch customizable dashboard.

In the fall of 2019, automaker Ford unveiled the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover in Los Angeles. This vehicle was built on the C2 platform from the Ford Focus. And in the fall of 2023, Ford showed a production Mustang Mach-E Rally crossover with an off-road mode.

Over the years, many different modifications of Mustang were produced, including Shelby GT500, Cobra Jet and others. At the same time, always the cars of the brand received rear-wheel drive. Overall. Mustang is not just a car, it is a part of American culture, which often appears in movies, music and video games.
