Fiat Panda

Fiat Panda: A Comprehensive Price Analysis of the Urban Italian Favorite

Fiat Panda is a city car of the Italian company, which has been produced since 1980. The car was conceived as a cheap, simple city car. Hence the boxy shape, not too refined trim and, among other things, rectangular headlights and flat windows.

To date, there are four generations of this auto:

  • First generation - 1980 - 2003. A bit angular and spartan equipped, the first version had an extremely favorable price and sold extremely well. Body type: 3-door hatchback (5 seats), 3-door van (2-4 seats). The two-cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine was installed on the very first Panda, sold only in Italy. For other European markets were intended four-cylinder water-cooled engines of 100 series with different displacement and power. The engines were mated to a four-speed gearbox.
  • Second generation - 2003 - 2012. A very popular small city car that has gained many fans over the years. The unflagging interest in the Fiat Panda is explained, in particular, by its low operating costs and low failure rate. Production of this model was moved to Poland, where the car was produced until 2012. In November 2003, the Fiat Panda II was recognized as the 2004 Car of the Year. The second generation Fiat Panda is equipped with gasoline engines 1.1 (54 hp), 1.25 (60 hp). A 1.3 cc Multijet diesel unit (70 hp) is also available. Subsequent versions of the Panda II received increasingly advanced emission standards, such as the 1.2 (69 hp) gasoline engine and the 1.3 (75 hp) diesel engine with DPF filter.
  • Third generation - since 2011. Production of Fiat Panda III has been moved to Italy. The latest version of Fiat Panda has grown compared to its predecessor: length - 3653 mm, width - 1643 mm, height - 1551 mm. In addition, it has received much better standard equipment. The standard equipment of Fiat Panda III includes, among other things, central locking, power windows, adjustable steering wheel, electric power steering, 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, emergency braking warning system, daytime running lights and on-board computer. The volume of luggage compartment has been increased. The range of Fiat Panda III engines has also been expanded. The following power units are available: gasoline - 0.9 TwinAir (65 hp), 0.9 TwinAir Turbo (85), 1.2 Fire (69 hp); diesel - 1.3 Multijet II (75 hp); gas - 0.9 TwinAir Turbo Natural Power (80 hp) and 1.2 Easy Power (69 hp).
  • Fourth generation. The fourth-generation Panda was introduced on June 14, 2024. Sold as the Fiat Grande Panda, it is based on the Smart Car platform. It will be sold with hybrid and electric powertrains.

To date, the Fiat Panda has sold 6.5 million cars, which is undoubtedly a great market success for the Italian brand.
