Fiat: from the origins to the present day - analyzing the cost of models

Fiat, or Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (Italian passenger car factory in Turin), began its activities on July 11, 1899. Among the founders of the company were Count Roberto Biscaretti di Ruffia and Lieutenant Giovanni Agnelli. It was these two men who put maximum effort into the success of the enterprise. The latter after a while took over as CEO of the company, which had 30 shareholders.

The first Fiat plant opened in 1900 on Corso Dante. At the initial stage of work at the plant employed 35 people, but after a few months their number increased to 150. Only 24 examples of the first Fiat, the 4 HP model (also known as the Fiat 3 ½ HP), were produced in its first year. This historic “automobile” was technologically full of extremes. It accelerated to a high speed of 35 km/h by the standards of the time. On the other hand, it didn't even have a reverse gear! In fact, it was a wagon with a tarpaulin canopy and a 3.5 hp engine.

Fiat is not the same company it used to be, there is no doubt about that. The company is still recovering from the crisis, and this is reflected in its model range. The company's portfolio consists mainly of popular cars, in which there is no place for Italian extravagance.

The basis of the model range is the 500 model and its modifications - 500X and 500 L. Another model is a slightly larger Panda. Currently at the top of the lineup is the compact Tipo, offered in sedan, hatchback and station wagon variants.

Fiat has already discontinued the Freemont model, which was the twin of the American Dodge Journey. It is also in vain to look for middle-class models or sports coupes in the price list, although the Italian manufacturer boasts rich traditions in this area.

A private buyer is primarily interested in Fiat cars, but it should be noted that the manufacturer offers utilitarian models as well.
