Catalog / Artega
Artega is a German sports car manufacturer founded in 2006 in Delbrück, Germany. The company was founded by Klaus Dieter Frers, the former head of automotive component supplier Paragon AG. Initially Artega was conceived as a manufacturer of exclusive sports cars combining German technology and Italian design.
The first model of the company was the Artega GT, presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007. This car was developed in co-operation with the famous Italian designer Henrik Fisker. The Artega GT featured a lightweight carbon fibre and aluminium body and a compact and powerful 3.6 litre V6 engine developed by Volkswagen.
Despite positive reviews and interest in the brand, Artega ran into financial difficulties. In 2012, the company declared bankruptcy but was soon acquired by Mexican investor Taner Goksu. Under new management, Artega focused on developing electric sports cars.
In 2015, the Artega Scalo, an all-electric sports car, was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This model demonstrated the new direction of the company and its commitment to innovation in the field of electric vehicles.
Interesting fact: in 2017, Artega presented an unusual concept car Artega Karo - a three-wheeled electric car inspired by the design of classic microcars of the 1950s. This project showed that the company was ready to experiment and go beyond traditional car manufacturing.
Despite its ambitious plans, Artega remains a niche manufacturer producing cars in limited editions. The company continues to work on innovative projects, combining a sporty spirit with environmentally friendly technologies.
Today, Artega is known for its commitment to creating unique sports cars using cutting-edge technology. The company continues to develop both electric and hybrid models, trying to find a balance between performance and environmental friendliness.
